Non-adherence to e-invoicing provisions waived for Oct 2020

CBIC announced non-adherence to e-invoicing provision will be waived for October 2020, keeping in mind the hardships faced by the taxpayers due to COVID lockdown. As per the press released by the CBIC, it is clear that:

1. E-invoicing will be applicable for all those taxpayers whose annual turnover exceeds INR 500 Crores in any preceding FY.
2. Non-adherence to the e-invoicing provisions stands waived for October month if IRN is generated within 30 days of date of invoice.
3. However, all the provisions mentioned in the CGST Act and rules regarding e-invoicing would apply for the invoices issued from 1st Nov 2020.
