9 New Notifications Issued by CBIC Dated 1st June 2021

1. Interest Rate Lowered for March-May 2021

As per Notification 18/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to provide relief by lowering of the interest rate for a specified time for tax periods March 2021-May 2021.

2. GSTR-3B Late Fee Waived for Specified Taxpayers

As per Notification 19/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to rationalize late fee for delay in filing of return in Form GSTR-3B and to provide a conditional waiver of late fee for delay in filing Form GSTR-3B from July 2017-April, 2021. Moreover, the Government decided to provide a waiver of late fees for late filing of return in Form GSTR-3B for specified taxpayers and specified tax periods.

3. GSTR-1 Late Fee Rationalized

As per Notification 20/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to rationalize the late fee for delay in furnishing of the statement of outward supplies in Form GSTR-1.

4. GSTR-4 Late Fee Rationalized

As per Notification 21/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to rationalize late fee for delay in filing of return in Form GSTR-4.

As per Notification 22/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to rationalize late fee for delay in filing of return in Form GSTR-7.

6. Government Departments and Local Authorities Exempted from E-Invoicing

As per Notification 23/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to amend Notification no. 13/2020-Central Tax and exempt Government departments and local authorities from the requirement of issuance of e-invoice.

7. Due Date of GST Compliances Extended

As per Notification 24/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to extend the due date of compliances which fall during the period 15th April 2021 to 29th June 2021 till 30th June 2021.

8. Due Date for Filing Form GSTR-4 Extended

As per Notification 25/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to extend the due date for filing Form GSTR-4 for the financial year 2020-21 to 31st July 2021.

As per Notification 26/2021-Central Tax dated 1st June 2021, the Government of India seeks to extend the due date for furnishing of Form ITC-04 for the Quarter end that is March 2021 to 30th June 2021.
